St. Patrick’s Day commemorates St. Patrick, the patron of Ireland. We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. It is a public holiday in Ireland.
On that day, the whole families go to see the parade, dressed up in green. You will see lots of green, white and orange flags and shamrocks painted on people’s faces and windows.
Did you know that Saint Patrick was actually born in Wales? He studied religion to become a priest and then went to Ireland to teach people about God. There are many stories about St. Patrick. The most famous legend is that he drove all the snakes out of Ireland.
