RENTING A HOUSE IN DUBLIN

Wynajmowanie mieszkania lub domu w Irlandii, zwłaszcza w Dublinie, bywa niełatwym zadaniem. Po pierwsze, trzeba się wykazać szybkością działania gdyż dobre oferty znikają jak ciepłe bułeczki.  Po drugie, ważna jest przenikliwość, by na przykład pod warstwą świeżej farby dostrzec ślady grzyba czy właściwie ocenić wydajność ogrzewania. Marcin:   That’s perfect. Could you give me the address, please?

Agent:   Yes, it’s 5 Main Road, opposite the pharmacy. Could I get your name and phone number?

Marcin:   Yes, my name is Marcin and my phone number is 0865468873.

Agent:   Just to let you know, this is one year lease and the landlady doesn’t want more than 4 people in the house.

Marcin:   That’s fine.

Agent:   See you tomorrow then. Please bring the references from your previous landlord and your employer.

ROZMOWA NA MIEJSCU:

Marcin:   The house seems very nice. It’s really spacious and bright. What kind of heating is there?

Agent:   Central heating plus the fire place in the sitting room.

Marcin:   And how about water?

Agent:   Hot water comes from the boiler and you can put the immersion on in case you turn off the heating. There is also electric shower in the bath.

Marcin:   What happens if we have a leak, damped wall or the heating breaks?

Agent:          If there is a problem, we have a handyman who will come and fix it. So, are you interested?

Marcin:   Yes, we are.

Agent:             Great, I’ll contact the landlady tomorrow and let you know. If everything is okay, we can sign the contract and take the meter reading on Friday so you could move in this weekend.
